Controlling thoughts?

Most of us are challenged by our negative feelings these days. We can quickly find ourselves thinking of all the catastrophes awaiting us which might cause us suffering and this suffering can stay for a long time. We want to control our thoughts so we feel better.

The feelings pass, what makes them stay is that we continuously think about our feelings, give them meaning, distort reality with our thoughts. This make negative feelings stay for a long time which might eventually lead to depression. I had depression (many times probably) and I found great help in the book of David Burns titled "Feeling Good". (I wrote about the thought distortions here)

Although this practice helped me, I developed a judging inner voice in me measuring how well I do against the "bad thoughts". I later found "letting go" of thoughts as better practice. I am still not great at it but I became much better and now I can distance myself from my thoughts.

Here in this video I talk about my experience_

In this video I am mentioning about BeCoach Academy and the events we have where we hold the space to feel however you feel in these turbulant times. You can learn more about our academy and follow our events on www.becoach-academy.com

If you ask me who I am in one word, I say “Human”. If I should do it with two words, I say “Loving Human”. If I am allowed to do it in three words, I say “Loving Creative Human”

I create words, emotions, connections, energy and spaces.

I do that through coaching, writing, speaking, podcasting and training.
