5 ways to move from having to being

In my pursuit of connecting with my "people" in Munich, and not to feel like an alien, I joined the night of the philosophy association Neue Akropolis (the new Akropolis).

The event was about changing your mindset in the light of the works of Erich Fromm and Simone Weil.

The 5 Ways Erich Fromm suggests to move from having mode to being mode is:

  1. Being decisive to act with the full heart and energy
  2. Being awake and in the moment
  3. To learn to concentrate and meditate
  4. Self analysis
  5. Building real relationships and communities

Being inspired by this evening, I sat down to write my own practices - especially for the times I feel like giving up:

  1. I practice trust in people, in the world and in myself.
  2. I practice curiosity for another way.
  3. I trust "everything works for the best".
  4. I wake up to the reality that "Eveything is okay here and now."
  5. I choose to live this moment fully.
  6. I remind myself "This moment is the right moment", and "I am the right person".
  7. I respond by exercising my values.

What are your practices for a fulfilling life?

Isil Uysal Calvelli

If you ask me who I am in one word, I say “Human”. If I should do it with two words, I say “Loving Human”. If I am allowed to do it in three words, I say “Loving Creative Human”

I create words, emotions, connections, energy and spaces.

I do that through coaching, writing, speaking, podcasting and training.
