Anger at Work

 June 1, 2020

By  Isil Uysal Calvelli

Are you angry with your colleague?

If you said yes, pause.

You are not angry with your colleague.

You are angry.

The person is irrelevant here. But there is something relevant - the message your anger carries.

Your anger says - you felt something important to you was attacked.

Your anger reminds you what is important to you.

But regarding attack … Is it true? How do you know it is true?

If you have a doubt that it might be true, that calls for a conversation. If you care about your colleague and your relationship, this is an opportunity to have a deeper connection by sharing how you feel and by asking your colleague to support you. Mind you, this is no way a confrontation, but a conversation and request for support. This is how we stay connected and deepen our relationship.

Work offers beautiful opportunities for human relationships. Let’s build deep ones.

If you ask me who I am in one word, I say “Human”If I should do it with two words, I say “Loving Human”. If I am allowed to do it in three words, I say“Loving Creative Human”

I create words, emotions, connections, energy and spaces.

I do that through coaching, writing, speaking, podcasting and training.
